The hotel has to go on wireless certification, often with a few items of equipment. It is easy to make mistakes by pressing the head to the number of rooms or cutting it by the maximum load given by the manufacturer: either the equipment is wasted or the industry discovers high-density areas of landslides. Capacity planning is about an estimation model that allows for simultaneous forward-up from guest houses and then reverses AP numbers and authentications to be distributed together, leaving enough median residuals.

The number of users to be counted and distributed first is not the number of rooms.

Three hundred guest rooms do not represent 300 people online at the same time. Real and real access depends on the number of occupancy rates multiplied by the rate of simultaneous online, and consideration is given to temporary peaks in non-residential areas such as conference rooms and restaurants. The first step in capacity planning is to calculate the number of users that are sent out simultaneously, rather than to add up the total number of guest rooms.

Peak-to-speech determines bandwidth and AP number

The number of users is added to the list, and the peak is swallowed by a single per capita bandwidth. The early peaking and evening home is double peaks, with planning at the higher end of the two peaks. AP single tape machines look at the factory ' s trademarks for residual quantities, and the high density area (middle hall, conference room) is added separately without sharing among guest areas. Capacity is distributional, not division of totals by single machines. The higher one in the two canps, determines the backbone bandwidth, which is lower at the late peaks, and canton collective at night peaks.

Authentication and distribution to check separately

V7 Authentication & Billing PORTAL – more than 4,000 certifications per second, and Radius — 400 certifications per second, sufficient capacity, but your project depends on whether the centralized uplink is full or not. The early peak of hundreds of people is almost even, and the request for accreditation is not equal. Capacity planning will list authentication and issue a list, keeping pace with Portal and Radius when confirming that they are online. Certification and posting are two volumes, counting only the moment the Internet opens.

AC and Address Pool to reserve

The capacity of the wireless controller AC and the size of the address pool are planned. The addresses pool is full, certified as normal but not connected to the network. It is classic failure. On a side-to-side basis, the AC selects the model that covers peak band machines and co-mingle hair. The AP is not an AC or an address pool; the planning is missing. The balance of the addresses can hold early peaks, not just everyday, and peaks are the hardest to catch.

Leave the balance in medium, but not full match

The goal of capacity planning is not theoretically full, nor is it the least underestimated. Leave a margin by median results: daily easing, peaks holding and extremes. Chain hotels also need to consider the sum of the multi-stores that are managed centrally, rather than just one single store. The balance is left for those unfortunate moments in real operations. Wasteful, underestimating, medium plus surplus, and easy to explain to their owners where money is spent.

Planning for the expansion path.

Capacity planning also needs to figure out how to expand: room space is available, conference rooms are more active, APs are online or ACs are larger. The expansion path must be set at the planning stage and cannot wait for a temporary restructuring to explode. Good planning allows only equipment to be added, not a reversal. The expansion path also determines whether the initial purchase should be reserved for interfaces and License, which may cost ten times as much after the previous phase of the procurement.

A common estimation error should be avoided

The most easy ones are: to combine room count, to read online without checking the peaks of certification, to distribute AP regardless of high density, to address pools not reserved by theoretical values, and to have no residual value for a letter factory trademark. These errors are small alone, and stacked together are business start-up accidents. The value of capacity planning is to remove them on paper instead of finding them in customer complaints.

The high density area is to be modeled separately.

The non-residential areas, the concourses, the dining halls, and the density of the rooms are totally different. Capacity planning is to model them separately, not to share them with the guest areas. A 200-person launch, possibly half a hotel, will be instantaneously distributed, and AP and bandwidth will be set at this local peak instead of diluted by the number of guest rooms.

Planning assumptions are documented and re-examined

Each number in the capacity plan.——Number of occupancy rates, simultaneous online rate and per capita bandwidth——All are assumptions, with clear sources and values. Documented assumptions, when the flow of real and estimated behind them is much different, make it clear at first glance which assumption is wrong, not even guessing. Revealable planning is the basis for evaluating the procurement and re-discovery after the fact, and the number of hits on the head cannot stand either.

Capacity planning needs to look back at the equipment.

When planning new things, the ACs, APs and switches that are available in hotels are not intended to be replaced entirely. Capacity planning is based on how much equipment already exists and how much it falls short. Blinding is a waste, without inventory, and may involve fighting between new and old equipment.

Capacity planning is done, equipment has a basis, stamina and failure is expected. It does not answer how much it costs, but rather how much it is given by your hotel, which is valid in both the procurement evaluation and the after-action retrenchment.
