Network Authentication & Billing

The system is only starting, and the next delivery is a real test. Many projects are well off in the early stages, with problems beginning to arise months later, some of them being left out of configurations, some of them ageing equipment, and others breaking the balance with volume changes. Knowing which types of malfunction most often occur, the operators can pre-empt the case rather than always be front-loaded.

Category I: Authentic pages do not popThe user connection to WiFi but the browser does not jump over the authentication page is one of the most common user complaints. This problem has many triggers: the user device DNS cached an old address, the equipment was previously certified and MAC was remembered but expired, the HTTPS website jumped was blocked by the system without being properly processed, some brand phones had special treatment of mandatory portal detection mechanisms. There is a need for gradual reduction in the scope of the check-ups: confirmation that the authentication server itself is online, confirmation that the user device can access the authentication server address, and then whether Portal redirection logic or terminal issues are simply described by users."You're not even online."It is difficult to locate, and the carrier needs remote access to Portal request logs and equipment online.

Category II: Certification successful but not networked. The user authentication page shows a successful authentication, but the browser cannot open the web page or only access the intranet. Such problems are usually sent under an authorization: NATSHEL_AUTH_BILLING has given an authorized command to AC or BRAS, but the network side of the device is not properly executed, possibly because the RADIUS reporting format is not open, CoA port is not open, there is an error in strategy matching, or VLAN configuration and certification systems for the network are not consistent. This requires reading of the logs and RADIC validation logs for the network equipment at Authentication & Billing, which can be found by contrast.

Category III: User account abnormal state. Users reflect that the package is not due but is offline, or that it is not available online when it is fully charged, or that accounts show a fee-for-money but actually no network. Such problems are usually related to the boundaries of the billing strategy: for example, the system checks the payment account at dawn to perform a break-in, but there is a time zone error in the execution logic that leads to some account errors; or the payback has been successful but does not properly trigger an account update.

Category IV: Simultaneous issuance of peak-end authentication timeout. The surge of requests for certification in the short time available during user-intensive authentication periods, such as morning work, school attendance, and short hours of time, can occur if systems are not equipped to handle them. The end-user behaves long after the information is filled in on the certificate page or reports errors directly. Such problems sometimes involve server hardware resources running full (CPU, memory, database connections) or internal leakage in the certification service process, which decreases performance a few days later.

Category V: Logs full and resulting in service abnormalitiesNATSHEL_AUTH_BILLING system produces a large number of web logs, which can be written down with the failure to write a database if the server disk is not regularly cleaned up or capacity planning is inadequate. This type of malfunction often occurs when the system suddenly fails to respond and the process of recording appears confusing because the service seems to run. The logical action strategy is to set warning thresholds for log storage, alerting when the disk is used over 70% instead of waiting until it is fully available.

Category VI: Changes in equipment compatibility following enhancement of solidsThe network equipment plants, such as AP, switchboard, Bras and others, have agreed to forward solidware updates, sometimes with minor changes in the handling of RADIFUS messages, which lead to problems with authentication systems. Such cases usually occur immediately after upgrades are made, so that the carrier can quickly locate them if it knows the upgrade record. If it is not known that the network has just risen the solid, it will be able to check the certification system by old-fashioned routes, many turns around.

The system provides a failure code, detailed logs and automatic alarms that allow operators to intervene before the problem becomes more acute.

The creation of a transport manual can significantly reduce the cost of troubleshooting.. Upline, it is proposed to organize a common trouble-processing process file that records the check steps for each type of malfunction, the log locations to be viewed, the usual causes and the corresponding operations. This allows even less experienced operators to handle the same kind of failure step by step, without having to touch from scratch every time. The initial version of this document can be sorted at the system interface stage, recording problems encountered during the testing and solutions, much more timely than recapitulating when the system is online.

Periodic health checks are the core of preventive conduct. It is recommended that the certification services process be checked once a week: normal, database connections are in their normal range, disk usage, and the failure rate of the last week. The certification failure rate should normally be relatively stable, usually implying changes in equipment configuration or service anomalies if one day suddenly increases, which would warrant early intervention rather than waiting for users to complain. These checks do not require advanced skills, are equipped with automated scripts to execute them on time, and provide alarms during an anomaly, and cover most foreseeable failures.
