A number of schools have seen them with a check-up function for the bid request document: whether there is a Portal certification, whether there is a set custom, if there are multiple operators connected, if there are equipment binding management, if there are financial reconciliation modules and if there are any guarantee logs. Each one has high ratings, and only after winning the bid is it found that the system is in fact at the implementation stage."Full"Some functions are defective, some have been online for three years and some have never been used, while others have a logic of fighting. One example is the case: a school’s billing system supports both flow-based and time-bound fees, but two set of fee rules can be double-counted when students switch access because they are separately charged and the system does not make mutually exclusive judgements. This question is not apparent in the functional list, only if students actually use both wired and wireless access methods.
There is often tension between the functional abundance and technological maturity of a school access billing system. A manufacturer who has worked in the industry for more than a decade may not have that many functions, but each chain has stepped through the pits to know where problems are and where the system's boundaries lie. Another newcomer may have more than 20 functional lists, but only 56 are actually stable, with the remaining functionality either being demonstrated by the demo or planned later but not yet fully realized.
The most interesting thing about the selection is not the number of functions, but the actual performance of the core links. Certification success rates and charging to account delays are two of the most realistic indicators. The authentication success rate cannot be seen only in aggregate figures from system logs, depending on whether or how much of the success rate falls between peak periods and issuance; whether there are anomalies when students switch to access points for recertification, such as failure of MAC address binding calibrations; and what happens after a failure to synchronize the business side account under proxy mode, whether it stops or lets up.——The average delay may be only a few seconds, but the P99 delay (99 minutes) may be as high as a few minutes."Second-scale response"The reference is usually to average rather than worst-case scenarios.
There is also a place where the functional list can be misled: multi-operator transfers."Multi-operator", but the way to land is a separate account system for each operator, and students need to register and fill separately. This means that you can claim in the functional list"Support multi-operator"But in practice, students need to manage multiple sets of accounts and use poor experiences, and the number of complaints will increase significantly. The real multi-operator dialling is that a student has to maintain a campus account, which binds a particular operator's package behind it, automatically completes a dialup at the back desk, and the students have no idea about this process. The operator's account creation, changes in the set, failed dialing, all done on the backstage."Multi-account System"Not every manufacturer that claims to support can do so. The decision is to ask the manufacturer for a true case of three operators running at the same time, and to provide technical instructions on how to synchronize the BRAS equipment and account numbers of three operators.
The financial reconciliation module is also typical."Looks like it."and"It really works."The financial reconciliations in many systems are: an Excel, containing a charge-back stream of water and consumption records. But between this Excel and the actual accounting for the school finance system, there is also a difference in the time taken to reconcile——The timing of the replenishment success and the time of accounting for financial systems may not be consistent; refunds are offset——How the student ' s time-refund balances are written off from the financial system; payment of cash charges for the delivery of the Treasure Note——Whether charges from the collection channel need to be accounted for separately; confirmation of entry mechanisms from different charging channels——A cartoon chargeer is not the same as a reconciliation that third parties pay. If the billing system does not have the capacity to handle these scenarios, the financial reconciliation module may be very complete in the tender documents but it is actually used manually.
One simple way to assess functional maturity is for manufacturers to provide them with a recently completed project that allows schools to contact the director of the network centre directly and ask three questions. These are the three questions: What kind of problems do you spend most time in daily transport when the system is online? Have you ever encountered large-scale complaints from the system’s own problems? If you re-choice now, where would you focus?
The functions are not always good. When you choose to do so, you have to clearly list the hard-on data on core functions and put the fielding questions in place, which is more valuable than ticking a functional list. You really run through project experience to know what is at the core and what is decorative.
