How does the Hotel WiFi Portal authenticate? From in-house to online.

The first thing you ask about WiFi's password is that the quality of the network directly affects the hotel's evaluation and even the OTA platform.

The first thing you ask about WiFi's password is that the quality of the network directly affects the hotel's evaluation and even the OTA platform.

But the hotel WiFi operates far more than"Give me a password."Much more complex. How to make the Internet accessible to residents, especially in multi-operators, while meeting regulatory compliance requirements, is a subject that hotel IT must address.

Portal certification is the most extensive network access program applied to hotel settings. The full process is as follows: when guests are checked in, the front desk records the room number and guest information into the hotel management system. After guests enter the room and connect to WiFi named after the hotel, the page opens up a browser and Portal pops automatically. Page shows the welcome information and the Internet description of the hotel, the guest enters the room and surname, and the system automatically verifies identity, and the Internet is available.

The process involves several systems connections.

The first is PMS docking. The hotel management system records the residences, including room numbers, time of entry and exit.

The V7 system supports multiple operators with their accounts if the hotel has mobile, connected, and telecommunications operators. Residents choose their own operator, enter a corresponding account code on the Internet, and the bill is automatically divided to the corresponding operator.

The third is the residence number certification. The hotel's most easy way to go through. Residents do not need a check-in code, and they can access the Internet by entering their room number with their surname. But this is based on the premise that the hotel front desk must be synchronized in time to the authentication system. If the guest has just been admitted but does not have the information synchronized, the connection will fail.

The Portal page of the hotel usually displays brand elements, and some hotels advertise or promote promotional activities.

From the perspective of the resident experience, there are several points of excellence that deserve attention.

The V7 system supports the simultaneous distribution of multiple devices for the same account, and the occupants can be certified using their own accounts to connect them simultaneously without having to repeat.

The experience is fragmented if the occupants need to be recertified from the lobby to the guest room. V7 supports the chatting, and there is no need for repeat certification when the guests move within the hotel.

The check-out system requires immediate retrieval of access rights to prevent the original occupants from continuing to occupy the network resources.

The hotel front desk is also important. The customer has been asked to fix WiFi, and the client service needs to judge it quickly.

The distribution of bandwidth resources is also a practical problem. When visitors are online, the experience of other residents decreases if they download video in large bandwidths. V7 supports bandwidth control strategies that limit the maximum bandwidth of single accounts or provide guaranteed bandwidth to ensure basic Internet access for each tenant.

The hotel WiFi uses the maximum amount of time in the evening, depending on operational data. From 9 to 11 p.m., it has the most intensive time span and the most pressure on bandwidth.

There are also other hotels that advertise third parties on Portal pages, and use accurate geographical and user profiles. This is a way to make the hotel WiFi available, which supports advertising position management at the V7 Portal platform, with flexible rules for advertising content and displays.

Multilingual support is also a need for mid-end hotels.

The WiFi service is not cheap. A lot of them are daily updates on WiFi, not Internet issues, but on the equipment set-up of the clients themselves. V7 systems can generate Portal guides to guide customers in their self-help screening of common problems, such as checking WiFi switches, forgetting network reconnection, etc., and reducing the workload at front desk and IT.

NATSHEL_BRAND has a large project accumulation in the WiFi certification area of the hotel, and V7 supports seamless interface with mainstream PMS.
