The reason why the hotel has been in a variety of places is that many people have put a package into all hotels, ignoring the fundamental differences between the user structure and management logic of fast chains and high-star hotels.
The respective prerequisites for the two forms of authentication are stated.
Text authenticationThe appropriate scene is: the customer is mobile, cell number is the only reliable identity and no need to dock with the hotel management system. Most fast-track hotels follow this route.——The customer has completed the process by self-help, the front desk does not need intervention and the back desk automatically records the logs of the Internet to meet the public security requirements.
But SMS certification has a problem: it doesn’t know whether you are a guest. In other words, anyone who has a cell phone number can pass the authentication. This does little to speed hotels, because public areas are allowed for visitors.
PMS docking authenticationThe problem is solved. PMS is the hotel’s room management system, which records who lives in which room and who stays in it until when. After the certification system connects to PMS, guests need to fill in their rooms number with their last name spelling initials, and the system goes to PMS for verification before release.
The core values of the programme are:Network access rights follow the accommodation status. The certificate page can be used to send information about members, preferences for meals and a menu of food entrances.
The V7 certification system of NatShell supports two PMS interfaces: one is a standard room number with a spelling of the name, which is commonly used in high-star hotels; the other is a six-digit identity card plus a room number, which is mainly used in small and medium-sized hotels that require real-name audits without complex PMS systems. Both are backed by the same interfaces, but only different forms of filling out front authentication pages.
There are several details to be noted when actually landing.
First, PMS docking requires hotel IT to work with open interfaces, some of which are not fully documented or have long-term interfacing cycles that stretch. In this case, NATSHEL_BRAND usually handles transitions first by using a temporary account code, running operations while fixing the interface and keeping the new system offline.
Second, the question of the dumb terminal. The organic top box, smart door locks, smart platform lamps in the guest room are devices that cannot themselves complete authentication operations but require networking. V7 supports a white list of the MAC addresses for mute terminals and pre-records the MAC addresses of these devices so they can bypass certification and go directly to the Internet, while there is still a record in the logs that does not become a bug.
Some guests bring friends, friends don't live in the store but want to use WIFI. The usual practice is for high-star hotels to register at front desk, which creates a temporary account for visitors at backstage and can be set up for an effective duration of four or 12 hours, with automatic failure.
The front desk attendants, restaurant waiters, security guards, etc. also need to be connected, but instead of following the residence certification process, they use a long-term account code that is assigned to the employee network area after logging in and logically separated from the guest area.
The top business hotels usually support both PMS certification and SMS certification: guests use PMS, visitors use text messages, employees use account codes, the top box takes MAC white lists. Four authentications exist in parallel, the certification system is managed uniformly, and backstage sees a complete user profile rather than isolated lists.
MAC Seamless Authentication also deserves to be alone. After the first customer certification, the system records the MAC address of this device. During the stay period, the device is connected to the WIFI and automatically released without having to fill in the room number. The business people who live three nights are leaving their homes every morning, night, and their phones go back, and they experience a lot more.
In which way, there are a few practical questions that can help you to locate.
Do you have a PMS system in your hotel? If not, it's enough to go directly to text-mail authentication, and the PMS interface is impossible. If there's an old PMS, but the interface file is missing, then evaluate the connection cost before deciding whether it's worth it.
What's the most common complaint that customers have against WIFI?"Why do you have to pay for checking out?", which is problematic to explain the logic of the calculation; if mainly"Why did you just break up the chain?", which may be the validity of authentication; if yes"Why do you have to re-check every time?"And the MAC can be solved without feeling it.
Do you need to know which room guests visit? If you want to, the PMS back-to-back log system is the only correct path. SMS authentication only knows cell numbers, it cannot be directly matched to the room number, and extra checks are needed when going back.
Finally, a little more cost. PMS pre-sinking is higher than pure text message certification because the manual costs of system integration are not just equipment. If the hotel is 50 or more, it usually returns in operational convenience.——The long-term savings in human costs are more significant than the integration costs without having to handle WIFI issues repeatedly and manually from front desk, or through frequent IT verification of logbooks.
