You're not certified on the hotel Wi-Fi?

So, when a lot of hotels do wireless certification, the idea is..."Buy a device and turn the authentication off, and you comply.". The net monitor checked it out and found that the log format was not right, the feed interface was not working, the retention cycle was a few days behind——The equipment was bought, the function was disabled and compliance failed.

The problem is that compliance is a functional point, not a system. NATSHEL_BRAND has stepped on the pits of the Wireless Certification Project in hotels, and four things are largely missing from the program phase.

I. Log fields are right, not equipment.

The requirements for the logs under the provisions of the Technical Measures for Security Protection of the Internet are clear:User identification information, terminal information, web logs, retained for no less than six months. But the rule does not write what a log format would look like——That's where the most of the actual projects are being pulled off.

The requirements for logs vary from one site to another. Some require a cell phone number, authentication time, downline time, access to IPs; others request specific URLs for recording access; and some request that the web-based feed be rounded up. These requirements are costly to change when the system is online, unless they are confirmed in advance with the integrated and equipment providers.

The NatShell log server will be able to check the local web monitor interface specifications at the programme stage, and the configured log fields and delivery formats will be confirmed with A before the project starts. Technically accessible, but only if this is discussed during the program phase, not if equipment is bought.

Two, distribution and concentration. The wrong structure is all a problem.

The network structure of hotels has changed considerably over the years. The traditional model is that hotels themselves draw broadband, build local area networks, and NATSHEL_AUTH_GATEWAY is deployed in hotel rooms. There are now more and more programmes for operators to reach their rooms, OLTs to operate their rooms, multiple hotels to share an OLT, and network structures on the side of hotels have been crushed.

The requirements for the certification system are quite different from those of these two structures.

The hotel built its own local area network., with the NATHELL_BRAND local deployment option——Authentication Gateway is deployed in hotel rooms, matching PMS with room number certification, log servers are maintained locally, and audit gateways are reported through core switch mirroring. This structure is managed by the hotel itself, clear access rights, data are found in its own office.

Operator fibre-optics to room, multi-hotel shared OLT sceneThe local deployment program is not working.——There is no independent network export on the hotel side, and all traffic is collected on OLT. At this point, NatShell offers a centralized programme: NATSHEL_AUTH_GATEWAY or audit gateways are deployed above OLT, with individual hotel traffic classified according to VLAN, independent log retention, and integrated feed-in monitoring. This structure is suitable for operators to manage multi-hotel compliance uniformly, single hotels being less complex but more sophisticated than local schemes.

The consequences of the wrong structure are that the equipment has been bought, and it is not connected to its own network; or that the architecture has been right, but the configuration parameters have not been adjusted, and all the anomalies after being online. NATSHEL_BRAND’s program team will be able to confirm the existing network structure with A in the pre-project phase, and decide which model to use, which one should not save.

III. Accreditation experience and compliance are not optional, but can be done together

Many hotels have a misunderstanding: authenticated names are the trouble of confirming. Users need to enter cell numbers, take authentication codes, fill in information, and experience much worse than open networks. Some hotels only use MAC addresses for certification.——Users connect to wireless, without filling anything. This way is good for users but does not meet the requirements for authentication.

The method of resolving this contradiction is stratification.

The guest goes to SMS, and it works out without feeling. The user connects for the first time, enters a cell phone number acceptance code and completes the real name authentication. After entering the same SSID, the MAC address is automatically identified during its active life.

White list of staff and equipment. The hotel front desk, engineering department, and the stationary terminal for managers are added to the white list in advance, without any certification required to access the Internet, while the web logs keep track of the usual.

Visitors are handled separately.Persons who are not residents but require temporary Internet access (visiters, partners) may choose to register or authenticate text messages at the front desk and open as required without prejudice to the resident's experience.

The three systems are parallel and run by separate certification logic, and hotels do not have to sacrifice their experience for compliance or give up on compliance.

IV. IPTV, logs, authentication three things can be solved with one device

Many hotels have a wireless system of certification, IPTV is one set, Log Audit is another, three sets of equipment, and machine room wiring and transport are all troublesome. NATSHEL_BARND NATSHEL_AUTH_GATEWAY can perform these functions simultaneously.

NETSHELL_AUTH_GATEWAY has access to operator lines on the side of the link, IPTV modules are built in gateways, single operators broadcast high-resolution channels through group broadcasts to eight rooms, and IPTV is isolated from online traffic by VLAN without taking advantage of bandwidth. Log servers keep full Internet logs via NATSHEL_AUTH_GATEWAY for more than six months. Audit gateways make traffic mirrors at the side of core switches and grab user logs for distribution to web monitoring platforms.

These three things run up with a gateway and a log server, not three sets of equipment. This is a cost-effective option for hotels with 50 to 200 guest rooms.

After all, the wireless hotel certification compliance is not solved by buying a device to open. Log fields are right in advance, architecture options match network status, experience problems are stratified and equipment selections take into account long-term maintenance costs. These four things are discussed before contracts are signed, and they are online before they get involved.
